Data we process
Sumac doesn't ask you to sign up and doesn't collect personal data in any form. All calculations happen in your own browser: the recipes and amounts you type are not sent to our servers.
We store your preferences in your browser (local storage), such as the last tab you opened or whether you use inches or centimeters. You can delete them at any time from your browser settings.
Accounts and saved recipes
If you create an account to use the recipe box, we store your email (so you can log in; it is never shown to other users), the public name you choose and the recipes you save. If you log in with Google, we receive your name and email from your Google account.
Private recipes are visible only to you. Public recipes can be seen by anyone, along with your public name. You can edit or delete your recipes at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to conversordecocinacontacto@gmail.com.
This data is stored in Google Firebase services (Authentication and Firestore). If you import a recipe from a link, our server downloads that page only to read the recipe and does not keep it.
If you read a recipe from photos, the photos are sent to Anthropic (Claude) only to turn them into text; we do not keep them. Your coins balance and its history are stored in your account.
Payments for plans and coins are processed by Mercado Pago: we never see your card details. For subscriptions we send them your email, and Mercado Pago tells us whether the payment was approved and for how much.
Advertising and third-party cookies
This site shows ads from Google AdSense to fund itself. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Some English pages include recommendations for kitchen tools and ingredients (such as kitchen scales or baking pans) with links to Amazon.com. If you buy something after following one of those links, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. These links are marked "On Amazon.com" and only carry our affiliate ID; we do not send Amazon any of your data.
When you click one of these links you leave our site, and Amazon may use cookies to record that you came from here and attribute the purchase. Amazon handles that under its Privacy Notice and Cookies Notice.
Services we use
- Firebase Hosting (Google): hosts the site. It may log technical data, such as your IP address, to serve the pages and for security.
- Google Fonts: loads the site's typefaces.
- Google AdSense: serves the ads, as explained above.
- Amazon Associates Program: affiliate links to Amazon.com, as explained above.
- Firebase Authentication and Firestore (Google): log-in and saved recipes.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, and object to its processing, by contacting the providers listed above or writing to us.
